What is a Salicylic Peel?
The Salicylic peel is a combination of Salicylic Acid and Alpha Hydroxy Acid. The Salycilic Acid works to slow down the sebaceous gland, thus slowing oil production that clogs the pores. The Glycolic Acid gently exfoliates the dead skin cells, thus increasing cellular turnover.
What can I expect during the treatment?
During this peel your skin will feel warm with a prickly feeling. Your skin will feel tight and fresh. Your skin will appear red after this peel, however it is only temporary.
What kind of results can I expect to see?
The first 24 hours after having this peel your skin will feel tight and shedding may occur. The skin may appear darker, due to the exfoliation of dead skin cells that has melanin present. This will gently shed off. After a series of 6 – 8 peels your pores will be smaller and you will have improved clarity and skin tone.
How often should I have a Salicylic Peel?
This Peel is best done in a series of 6-8 peels 2 weeks apart.
What should I avoid prior to having a Salicylic Peel?
2 weeks prior to your peel you should not tan or burn your skin. You should also discontinue use of any retinoids, retinols, glycoics, or AHA’s.
What should I avoid after a Salicylic Peel?
Do not use any retinoids, retinols, glycolics or AHA’s for about 5 days. You also need to avoid the sun, no tanning or burning the skin. You mush use an SPF after the Peel.
What is the cost of a Salicylic Peel?
Individuals with a body mass index over 30 may not be considered for these treatments.
$100 per peel, or a series of 6 for $500.00
